Wall Mount Documents and Training

Sound HD Dental | Wall Mounted User Video

Both the wall mount and mobile cards utilize the same functionality for setting your Sound HD Dental X-ray settings. The video below will guide you through operating your new Sound HD Dental X-ray.

Contact our installation department  (installations@soundvet.com) or your sales rep for the password to view the video below.

Wood Studs

Sound HD Dental has both a single and double-stud template that can be used. Sound always recommends using the double-stud template when possible.

Studs should be spaced 16″ apart. Please ensure you have wood studs prior to your install. Aluminum studs or wood studs outside the standard 16″ spacing require a backer board to be installed.

Concrete Walls

The Sound HD Dental can be mounted on a concrete wall. It is recommended to use the included anchor and bolt.

Tile Walls

Sound is not able to mount a Dental Wall Mount System on tile. The pressure from the x-ray when extended will crack the tile. If you are needing to put the x-ray in a location where tile is, please have a contractor or handyman remove the tile and ensure that proper studs or backer board is in place.

Aluminum Studs or non-standard Stud Distancing (16″)

If your buidling has aluminum studs, a backer board underneath the drywall is required. This should be installed by a contractor or handyman. Sound recommends using 1 3/4″ x 14″ LVL placed between two studs. The distance of the board will depend on the distance of your existing studs. 14″ LVL board can usually be found at your local hardware store.

  1. Remove drywall
  2. attach LVL between both studs
  3. Replace drywall
  4. Mark location of backer board

*LVL can be purcahsed at your local Menards or lumber store

Electrical

Your Sound HD Dental Mount X-ray machine can be plugged into a standard electrical outlet* or wired directly into an outlet. For more information, please see page 32 of the Installation Manual.

A Minimum 10 amps is required. The machine will have a max draw of 7 amps during exposure. The common 3-pronged outlet usually carries a minimum of 15 amps.
